School Assignment is a program that allows first year Undergraduate/Undeclared students making normal progress toward a major, to change to their School of Interest, even before completing Change of Major pre-requisites. The School Assignment process begins during Week 2 of the Spring quarter on Monday, April 7th, 2025 as shown below for each school. All first year U/U students need to complete the process (even if choosing to stay with Undergraduate/Undeclared), and if not completed by Friday, April 18th at 3:00 P.M. an academic hold will be placed on your academic record.

Proceeding with your UCI Email Account, please follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Select from the list of schools below and click on the link for the school you are interested in to learn more about the School Assignment requirements for that school:

- Biological Sciences
- Education
- Engineering
- Humanities
- Information and Computer Sciences
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Public Health
- Social Ecology
NOTE: The Merage School of Business, School of Social Sciences, and the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing DO NOT participate in this program. To change into those programs you will still be required to meet the Change of Major requirements instead. If you do not yet meet the Change of Major requirements, you may choose to remain with Undergraduate/Undeclared.
STEP 2: Use the link in the upper left corner of the page to access and complete the School Assignment form.
STEP 3: Once you have successfully completed the form, if you meet the school assignment requirements for that school, you will be assigned to that school of your choice.
