First Year Excellence Program (FYEP)

heir

“At first I was a declared major, and then changed to Undecided/Undeclared so I could participate in the First-Year Excellence Program.”

The First-Year Excellence Program is a housing option at UCI that creates a living and learning environment for Undergraduate/Undeclared students. The program is designed to support first-year students making the transition to University life and to help them define their educational goals.

Students must complete a housing application on time and have a desire to further develop your leadership skills. Participating in this program is an excellent way to start an enriching academic career here at UCI.

Fall/Winter:

Students have the option of enrolling in the University Studies 1 course hosted at the residence dorm hall. In addition, students have the added benefit of receiving advising once a week to make sure students are on track.

Spring:

The First-Year Excellence Program host a philanthropy project during the spring quarter every year to give back to the community. Students have the opportunity to take on leadership positions to enhance their resumes and gain valuable experience for their first-year.
